There was a lot of government support by George Bush and those who wanted to declared war on Iraq.Now a days there isn’t as much support as there used to be. George W. Bush Military: Where was most of the combat taken place?- Most of the combat has taken place in Iraq. A city in which a lot of combat has taken place was is Fallujiah. When and what was the first battle of the U.S. were a part of? How many forces were committed? What were the casualties? How did it change the war? The first battle of the war in Iraq occurred in the city of Fallujiah. Marines say it was the heaviest urban combat that they have had to deal with since the Vietnam War. 95 U.S. Marines died and 560 were wounded. The U.S. killed 1,350 + and captured maybe more than 1,500. It never really changed the war because not many citizens wanted to be there and the home front means a lot.
An American Soldier Technology and Tactics: What technological advancements did the war produce? Much technological advancement has come about in the Iraq war. Many things that we have used in the past have become much better, much better than they were 10 years ago in the first gulf war. Where there any unique tactics the US military used to help win the war? Tactics used in this war have been airstrikes, intense urban combat, and many night prisoner extraction missions. They tactics are just about the same as they were in the first gulf war just the technology has become better.
Home Front: What did the home front do to help during the war? The home front has done a lot to help out soilders and fallen vets of the Iraq war. However the home front has not been on the side of our government. The majority of people in the country do not think we should be there and that we are wasting our time and US lives. What kind of media was used to report on the war? Internet has been huge with the war in Iraq. For the first time you can watch videos of actual combat happening in Iraq. It hasn’t been able to happen in any war that the US has been in so far so you can see first hand what is going on. Was their any unpopular support for the war? Who were they and why? Yes there is a lot of unpopular support for the war. In the beginning it was fine because the American people thought that we would be basically going in and getting out once Saddam was taken out. Its 2009 and we went to war in 2003. That explains it all.
